John Bell can help your company be more successful by teaching your leadership teams to focus on maturity instead of the bottom line. This is a relationship driven style instead of a results driven style. Healthy relationships produce maximum results. That’s a better way to increase the bottom line. That’s what emotional intelligence is all about.
John has worked with large, mid-size and small companies to change the cultural energy and environment of the work environment. He teaches leaders to engage their teams with joyful leadership: not only does productivity increase but job satisfaction as well. If you want to have leaders that people love to work for, John can work with you to achieve your goal.
Healthy Leaders = Healthy Cultures
Whenever I ask a business owner or leader for their company’s driving philosophy, they often respond with GSD – “Get Stuff Done!” Owners and leaders are highly motivated, competent and focused on their work. If a business is going to succeed, a major factor will be because people know how to get stuff done. GSD requires vision, strategy, goals and accountability all working together, all the time. However, GSD is unhealthy all by itself.
People will eventually burn-out, leave, underperform, lack creativity, isolate or just sour on the process if they are treated like machines. Leaders must creatively engage their teams as flesh and blood human beings; they must know how to motivate with joy instead of fear. Leaders have to really care about the people they lead.
How does a leader do that? They do it by using both sides of their brain: their reasoning side and their relational side. Your reasoning side can solve problems; your relational side can help you engage and stay connected to people. People love to follow leaders that can accomplish both tasks in the marketplace.
Sadly, there is a shortage of leaders like that and it seems to be getting worse. Richard Davis wrote an article in the Harvard Business Review in which he coined the phrase, “sandbox leaders,” who act more like children than adults. The problem is they have underdeveloped relational brains. Their brain needs to grow up, but they don’t know how. Sandbox leaders develop toxic cultures.
